Wood Fired Pizza Chefs & Gatekeepers of the almighty flame!
We are looking for a creative foodie to work in our kitchen. Prepping and cooking pizzas and other wood-fired foods and managing our wood-fired oven.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing pizzas and stretching doughs to order.
Cooking pizzas in a wood fired oven & finessing the flame
Managing the wood fired oven, lighting fires, maintaining temperature in the oven for optimal cooking
Prepping the oven and kitchen on service days for use.
Prepping the ingredients for pizzas on day of service
Keeping kitchen and kitchen appliances clean and in good working order.
Expediting, firing, and managing orders properly.
Qualifications:
Ultimately some experience is necessary, while we are willing to train, we are searching for candidates who have some culinary experience or love of cooking and food, and who ideally would love to work with wood-fired foods. The candidate should be creative and have a desire to create recipes and experiment with ideas. Our pizzas are very high quality, and we use local ingredients, and try to keep to traditional methods of cooking. Experience cooking in a wood fired oven or with flame is a plus, as managing a fire takes some skill. The position is part time, 2 to 3 days a week (Thursday-Saturday) with the opportunity for full time as we expand our hours. Please note: the position does not include making the pizza dough, we have that covered by our resident dough maker!
Compensation: $15-18 hourly depending on experience, plus tips,
